Glamping in the 1000 Islands

Looking to get out of town and enjoy some days glamping? Plan a weekend stay at the 1000 Islands Camping Resort; it’s the campground with the big rubber duck in front of it – hard to miss! Located about 10 minutes from Gananoque on the Thousand Islands Parkway, it’s a great location for the whole family to spend a weekend or longer.

They have plenty of family friendly activities at the campgrounds so you can spend your whole time on the site if you want; they have two swimming pools, a hot tub, bubble soccer, basketball, volleyball, water bikes, a jumping pillow and dino karts. Their location on the parkway also makes them a convenient jumping point to all the major attractions in the area, including the Rockport Boat Line, Gananoque Boat Line, 1000 Islands Helicopter Tours, and 1000 Islands Kayaking, while also feeling just the right distance from town.

For those who don’t have their own RV or trailer, you can rent one from the 1000 Islands RV Centre – they offer both motor home and travel trailer rentals. And the best part? If you tell them the location of the campsite, they will drop off the trailer and pick it back up so you never have to drive, or park it yourself.

If you want to explore the surrounding area it is located in an ideal spot close to the Ivy Lea Club, beaches, biking paths and hiking trails. The campground is right on the Thousand Islands Parkway bike path, which is a paved cycling trail safe for everyone to use. Down the Parkway from the campground is the Landon’s Bay Centre, where they have five different hiking trails all with low to moderate difficulty. There is a trail there that leads to a gorgeous, lookout view of the St. Lawrence River from above. Once done at the hiking trails go enjoy brunch, lunch, or dinner at the beautiful waterfront restaurant at the Ivy Lea Club. After your meal stop by The Skiff Café where they offer classic Italian coffee, lattes and cappuccinos, homemade ice cream, freshly-baked French pastries, simple breakfasts, smoothies, and more, all made with fresh, natural ingredients.  The perfect way to start or finish your day!
