During the summer months, the weather is warm and the canal is fully-operational. But come winter, there’s also plenty to do! 

There are many outdoor activities to enjoy during your visit to the Rideau Canal. Try hiking, picnicking and fishing – and that’s just for starters!

If you’re visiting the Rideau Canal during the summer months, make sure you dress for warm weather. Bring a hat and sunscreen. It can get cooler in the evenings, so a jacket is recommended.
