From serene relaxation to breathtaking adventures, Gananoque, Ontario is the gateway to the 1000 Islands. Close to two UNESCO world heritage designations, including the Frontenac Arch Biosphere and Rideau Heritage Route.

More than 1000 Islands...
In fact, there are 1,864 islands and endless ways to experience them. Gananoque is the best access point to the 1000 Islands area and is located approximately three hours from Toronto and Montreal and two hours from Ottawa. Gananoque is just 15 minutes from the border crossing into Upper New York State via the Ivy Lea Bridge and is only 50 minutes to Watertown. Our picturesque community is conveniently accessible from Highway 401, Highway 2 and the St. Lawrence River.
