1000 Islands Patio Guide

With the much anticipated lifting of some of Ontario’s COVID-19 restrictions, one of Canadians’ favourite summer pastimes is finally able to open up on June 11th: patios. While there are still protocols in place to ensure everyone’s safety as we move forward (please refer to the Ontario Reopening framework: Learn More, you will now be able to sit outside at a local establishment, enjoy a crisp cool beverage, indulge in some delicious food and soak up some of that glorious sunshine. The 1000 Islands has its fair share of fabulous patios to enjoy this summer, so be sure to check out the amazing places below to make the most of patio season while it’s here! Please be sure to check with the individual establishments to confirm hours, availability and safety procedures – and remember that those restaurants that don’t have a patio are open and available to order takeout! *Note: some images depicted below were taken prior to COVID-19*

Anthony’s Restaurant

With a menu jam packed with Italian and Canadian classic dishes, Anthony’s Restaurant is a great spot to score some delicious comfort food. Located right downtown Gananoque, it’s the perfect spot to stop and enjoy a little break and enjoy the hustle and bustle of small town Gananoque.

Boat Shop Café

Located right next to the water, the Boat Shop Café, owned and operated by the Thousand Islands Boat Museum, offers a small patio with fabulous views of the St. Lawrence. The shop offers coffees, teas and lattes to enjoy in the morning on the patio, or after a day of exploring you can sit back and enjoy something stronger. While you can’t score a full meal, they do offer a variety of goodies and snacks to indulge in with your choice beverage.

BUSL Cider

Laverne’s Eatery

The Maple Leaf Restaurant

While the patio at the Maple Leaf Restaurant is not the biggest (be sure to call ahead to ensure they can seat you), their menu is chock full of authentic Czech dishes that are sure to knock your sandals off! The Purple House Café
